Helping At-Risk Youth Build a GamePlan for Life

At Homies Mentor, we come alongside students through mentorship, advocacy, and life-skills development that creates lasting transformation.

The Need Is Real

Every day, students in our city face challenges that go far beyond the classroom.

Peer pressure. Lack of positive role models. Exposure to crime. Mental health struggles. Limited opportunities.

Without guidance and support, many youth struggle to see a hopeful future.

That’s where Homies Mentor steps in.

Currently serving students at Stovall Middle School in Aldine ISD, our program provides mentorship, encouragement, and practical life skills that help students make positive decisions and build successful futures.

Does Mentoring Really Work?

Research shows that youth with mentors are:

55%

more likely to attend college

78%

more likely to volunteer in their communities

81%

more likely to participate in sports and healthy activities

130%

more likely to step into leadership roles

Mentorship doesn’t just change moments.
It changes trajectories.

Testimonials

The partnership between Stovall Middle School and the Homies Mentor Program has had a meaningful and lasting impact on our student population, particularly in supporting students’ social and emotional development. Through consistent mentorship, positive role modeling, and intentional relationship-building, students are gaining the tools they need to navigate challenges, build confidence, and make better decisions. This collaboration highlights the critical role community partners play in education, schools cannot meet every need alone, but together, we can create a strong support system that nurtures the whole child and empowers students to succeed both academically and personally.
